The Journey Begins
Our day starts with a convenient pick-up from your villa, followed by a charming ferry crossing across the Dalyan River. As we leave the bustling center behind, you’ll feel the tranquil atmosphere of the Çandır side instantly.
Echoes of Kings & Myths
We’ll stand just steps away from the iconic Carian Rock Tombs for an up-close photography session. Here, the story of Kaunos and Byblis comes to life: Legend says the waterfalls of the region were born from the tears of Byblis, who wept inconsolably for her twin brother Kaunos.
The Ancient Harbor of Kaunos
We then enter the Ancient City of Kaunos (Entrance Included). It’s hard to imagine today, but this city was once a vital Mediterranean port. You’ll see the remains of the Roman baths, the theater, and the harbor that eventually silted up, changing the course of history forever.
A Step Back in Time: The Private Museum
Discover the "real" local life of the last 90 years. We visit a Private Ethnographic Museum (Entrance Included) featuring authentic items donated by village families. It’s a touching, intimate look at how people lived, worked, and loved in this valley before modern tourism arrived.
The Village Heart: Mosque & Tradition
We will visit the local Village Mosque. I’ll guide you through the significance of its architecture, the peaceful interior, and the meaning of the musalla stone, offering a respectful insight into the spiritual traditions and community life of the region.
The Ancient Lighthouses of Çandır
A hidden gem! We’ll explore the site of the Çandır Lighthouses. Centuries ago, the sea reached all the way to this point, and these beacons guided ships into the Kaunos harbor. It’s a perfect spot to visualize the dramatic geographical changes of the delta.
A Feast for the Senses
We crown the day with a traditional lunch at a hilltop spot with breathtaking views. As you enjoy fresh, local flavors, your eyes will feast on the panoramic vista of the Dalyan Delta and Iztuzu Beach. It is a moment where the body is nourished by food, and the soul by the scenery.
The Return
After a day filled with history, culture, and serenity, we’ll make our way back across the water, leaving "Heaven" behind but taking its stories with us.
